Planning horizon
A provisional schedule can distinguish forecast arrivals, requested windows and confirmed slots. Its purpose is to help participants understand dependencies; it must not imply that a berth has been reserved when the facility has not confirmed it.
Shared dependencies
Storage readiness, cargo documentation, equipment availability and independent service providers may affect the sequence. The planning team should record dependencies and their owners instead of assuming all activities can run at the same time.
Change communication
The schedule should retain a dated revision record and a route for notifying affected parties. Commercial implications of changes belong in the agreed contract; this concept does not determine demurrage or other charges.
Build a reviewable file
For this topic, retain the proposed scope, its source documents, responsible parties and unresolved questions together. Mark each item as proposed, received, verified or superseded so the status remains visible to reviewers.
- Exact legal entity and site, where relevant.
- Source and date of each material statement.
- Authorised issuer or reviewer for each decision.
- Outstanding evidence and the person responsible for obtaining it.
These are editorial planning prompts. They do not replace facility procedures, technical assessment, legal advice or regulatory requirements applicable to an actual transaction.
